The Auction of Indian Premier League done. Lets see the summary of the Auction.
The 2024 Indian Premier League (also referred to as IPL 2024 or IPL 17) will be the 17th season of the Indian Premier League, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league in India. It is organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
In this season, bowlers will be allowed to deliver two bouncers an over. This change was first used during the 2023-24 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Let’s take a look at those who sold at the auction
Mustafizur Rahman played for Delhi Capitals in the last season. But he was released by the franchise before the upcoming season. So Mustafiz gave his name in the auction. This time he got the team. Chennai Super Kings brought him to the team for 2 crore rupees.
Mustafiz got the team from the last set accelerated round of the day. His base price was Rs 2 crore. Chennai bid for him early in the auction. However, as no other team showed interest, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team got this Bangladeshi pacer at the base price.
As this is the first time that the auction has been held outside India, this is also the first time that a woman has conducted the entire event. Again, this auction has twice recorded the highest remuneration. At the beginning, Pat Cummins went to Hyderabad for Rs 20.5 million, breaking Sam Curran’s record. Mitchell Starc broke that record after a couple of hours. Kolkata bought this pacer for 24 crore 75 lakh rupees. Which is the highest price record in IPL history?
A total of 333 cricketers were named in this year’s auction (IPL Auction 2024). A total of 72 cricketers got the team from there. Kolkata bought the most cricketers from the auction. They have gathered 10 people in the team. Besides, 9 people went to Delhi. Mumbai, Hyderabad, Punjab and Gujarat bought 8 cricketers each. Bangalore, Chennai and Lucknow have taken 6 cricketers each. Rajasthan was the quietest in the auction. They bought a total of 3 cricketers.

Let’s take a look at those who remained unsold at the auction
The IPL auction is the dream of many stars. Many dreams are crushed again. Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena duo continued to touch on that emotion. On the one hand, when Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Darrell Mitchell became the owners of crores in an instant. Unknown Sameer Rizvi, Shubham Dubey, Kumar Kushagra are also overnight millionaires. Then one after another famous star remained unsold in the auction.
When World Cup winners Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc made history in the IPL auction, many World Cup winners from Australia did not get a team in the IPL. Just as Steve Smith to Jos Hazlewood remained unsold in the auction, Jos English, who scored a century in the T20 series in India a few days ago, or even Kyle Jamieson, who fetched a huge price in the RCB jersey two years ago, was not bought.
Kuldeep Yadav (fast bowler, uncapped) is a regular face of domestic cricket. He was playing in the IPL from 2021 for Rajasthan Royals. He was released by Maru City franchise. He did not get a team this time.
Similarly Murugan Ashwin who was considered a wonder spinner. Since 2017, he has played in IPL in every season – played in teams like Delhi Daredevils, Rising Pune Super Giants, RCB, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings. He also did not get the team on Tuesday.
However, even if it is unsold, the hope of playing in the IPL is not ending completely. If a star of a franchise is unable to play in the league due to injury or any other reason, the respective franchise can pick up any of the unsold stars in the auction.
Kolkata Released Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, Aarya Desai, David Wiese, Narayan Jagadeesan, Mandeep Singh, Kulwant Khejroliya, Shardul Thakur, Lockie Ferguson, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, Johnson Charles
