HOW CAN CREATE A COMPLETE CV
A CV is a written summary of your career and achievements. CV stands for ‘curriculum vitae‘, which is Latin for ‘course of life’.

Some mistakes in CV may be harmful  for selecting you  for a job. So, here I am trying to  give some information about common mistakes when writing a CV. I hope, if you avoid this kind of common mistake then  maybe  write a complete CV for yourself and others.

  1. I would call it the first mistake to create a CV with your older brother’s CV and put your own name and address in it. Dependency at the beginning of the career is right? We are all unique, everyone’s CV is unique.

  1. While copying the CV, many father’s name, mobile numbers remain tied to that elder brother. Once I got a CV of an electrical engineer. Mechanical Engineer was written in the CV. Blessings to all brothers.

  1. CV is not a place for literature. Remember, the bigger the CV, the more likely it is to get thrown away. From freshers to 6-7 years of service, their CV will be 2 pages. CV of 6-15 years experience will be three pages. You will get one page to write every 10 years of work.

  1. Just as chalking does not make it gold, colouring in the CV does not make the CV visible. Rather it shows your lack of interest. CV will be written in black on white paper. Remember, “What is simple, that is Beauty”

  1. If the format is good, the CV will be good is a complete misconception. If you work like “What is the name of the tree, what is the identity of the tree”, then you can put it in any format. The work will make the recommendation for you, not the format.

  1. Current address should be written after name in CV. Current address is the address where you sleep at night. Father’s house, permanent address, father-in-law’s house address are also available in CV. They will not be there.

  1. Not giving the country code in the phone number is a big mistake. Dubai is giving a CV. Will you go to Dubai for an interview? How to contact you from Dubai?

  1. There are many mail IDs available in CV: [email protected], [email protected], you can be sure, if you have such a bad mail ID, you will not get an interview call.

  1. Skype ID must be given in the CV. No recruiter has time to find you and arrange an interview with you online. Also keep WhatsApp and Viber active.

  1. Always have LinkedIn ready. Anyone who visits knows about you. Read the third part article on how to create LinkedIn.

  1. Applying for jobs with school photos is a big mistake. When a guy calls you for an interview, opens your CV and sees your school picture, will he call you back?

  1. Continuing the same CV for any job in Sales, Marketing, Branding, Accounts. Suppose you cook chicken. Is it possible to grill, tandoori, roast, and kebab with the same spices? Certainly not. You also need to change the masala every time you apply it. Or no one will call.

  1. You will go to Chittagong. Will you board the bus that says the bus will go to Chittagong or will you board any bus at the bus stand? Think about it. If you don’t ride the aimless bus, how do you expect the CV of someone who has no career goals to be thrown away?

  1. Many people use the words “Seeking”, “Need”, “Looking for Position”, “Good Organization” in their career objectives. These are serious mistakes. The objective must be the mentality to work only. Wanting, needing, giving, looking for are the words of the weak.

  1. Father’s name, mother’s name, height, number of nose, number of eyes, these are not related to your job. They are not needed. I have also seen two and a half feet people get jobs because of their qualifications. There is no use in providing unnecessary information. CV selectors will throw away CVs like rotten potatoes. For him CV selection is a daily boring task. But to you, it’s your career.

  1. Grammar and spelling mistakes are another fatal CV mistake. Many people don’t even know the Bengali meaning of what is written in the big brother’s CV, but they are sending that CV.

  1. The font, spelling, margins, style of the CV should always be the same. One font in one place, one style in one place looks bad.

  1. CV statements that are not SMART are very serious mistakes of CVs of employers. SMART stands for S= Specific M=Measurable A=Achievable R=Realistic T=Time Bounded I wrote about SMART in an earlier episode. Please read. Put your tasks in the CV with SMART statements in such a way that the employer understands how big a tiger you are.

  1. You can’t write anything about yourself that you can’t defend.

  1. Not having strong words in CV is another weakness. Google and put strong words in your CV. I will write a whole about this in the future.

  1. Freshers cannot show in CV that they have also worked and know work. To know how freshers write experience, read the first part essay.

  1. Hunting, fishing and other odd hobbies that have nothing to do with work should not be on a CV.

  1. Many employers write the history of the company in their CV. Provide company website address. Whoever needs it will know.

   24. Freshers CV should have co-curricular activities. One year in four years everyone spends vacation. Something must be done at this time. Remember, you will have plenty of time            to sleep after death. By alchemy, don’t waste precious time sleeping.

  1. Lack of training is another major weakness of CV. The training CV will be strong. will work

  1. CV is also rejected due to not being able to highlight your professional expertise.

  1. It is also a big CV mistake not to mention in which areas you excel and in which areas you would like to work.

  1. Another CV mistake is having wrong dates. Many people go from one job to another and make mistakes in entering dates. If this mistake is caught, the CV will be rejected.

  1. Job gap is a major reason for CV rejection. There may have been a gap in the job, but he did the work. Write down what you did. Fill the gap with work.

  1. Maybe apply for the post of sales staff. But the supply chain was written in the CV so much that the CV selector got confused. He will discard your CVT.

  1. Even if the information of the CV is not arranged in stages, your CV can be left out. Suppose, you have done an internship while studying BBA. That means the internship is a part of studying at BBCA. So first there will be BBA study information, then internship will come.

  1. It looks very strange when a boy’s photo is attached to his CV and he writes separately that his gender is Male.

  1. Mentioning how much you earn and how much you want is another CV mistake. Verification must be done first, price will come last.

  1. Do not write CV using third person. Don’t write She, He. You are introducing yourself in the CV. So write everything in fast.

  1. Why am I the best? Why call me for an interview? If it doesn’t show in the CV, you won’t get an interview call. Read last week’s article on how to present yourself appropriately.

  1. Don’t make CV references of relatives, friends, or cousins. Include two references on the CV who you have met during your studies or at work.

  1. Many make tables in the language skills section. It looks very bad. You know Bangla and working English. This is enough to write.

  1. Don’t give any computer skills you don’t know. Don’t give any software skills you don’t know.

  1. Get the permission of the person you are referencing and give their phone number and mail id.

  1. Finally sign to show that the CV is yours. Enter the date on which you are sending the CV.

  1. Without a cover letter, your CV will often be lost. In many places you cannot apply without a cover letter.

  1. No one should send a CV in JPG format. No one has time to download multiple images and view your CV. Send CV in PDF.

  1. Not writing the position being applied for on the envelope or in the subject of the email is another big mistake. This mistake is due to haste.

  1. Many mail the file named “My CV”. Now if I get 10 files with the same name, what should I do? I will throw away 10 CVs without opening them. Change the file name of the attachment in case of email.
  1. It is best to send the CV in offset print. Misery is not right everywhere.

  1. Do not put too old information in your CV. Remove previous jobs as new jobs are added to the profile.

  1. Do not send CV and photo separately. A CV verifier has to sift through hundreds of CVs. He will never attach a photo to your CV.

  1. Do not give the word file to anyone. It can be edited. There are info security issues. Don’t give CV to him.

  1. Update your CV every month, otherwise you won’t remember what you did. Don’t waste time today and tomorrow.

   50. Another mistake is not updating CV on regular portals. Many times it is seen that a company may be looking for a person with 5 years of experience. You may also have 5 years            of    experience. But the CV of the portal has not been updated for the last 6 months. But you’re already out of the pool. The system will reject your CV. You have not updated the          system. But the system will show you your CV for 4.5 years of employment. You are left out of those who want 5 years of experience. Remember, it’s your fault, not the system’s.

Correct the mistakes or pay the fine. Remember, if you don’t take care of your body, your career will get sick if you don’t take care of your CV.
